Learn to swim classes
Our swimming lessons focus on teaching skill development for beginners and improvers through to competent swimmers. Our average class size is 5 and the maximum is 7. For the very young swimmers our teacher/pupil ratio is 1 to 2. We teach the children all four strokes as soon as they can swim. Our priority is to make the children safe in deep water as soon as possible and improve stroke technique throughout the course. The children are tested each term and ASA certificates and badges are awarded at the end of each term.
Our pool is 2.0 metres deep and is one of the few pools in the area where you can dive safely. We are able to teach the ASA Diving Skills program which is designed to give pupils an early introduction to springboard and platform diving. It provides underwater confidence, body awareness and develop skills for static springing into complex jumps and dives.
ASA Poolside Diving awards can be gained from Grade 1 to Grade 5.
Personal Survival and Rookie Lifeguard classes
This is a series of grades teaching children basic lifesaving skills. The program is divided into 4 areas, water safety, rescue, self rescue and emergency response. These aim to teach lifesaving skills, increase swimming competence, develop survival skills in water, develop confidence, initiative and judgment, develop teamwork and leadership. They are also designed to be fun and interesting for children.
